St. John's prides itself on it's Big East Sports membership, but rarely makes mention of it's affiliation with the lesser
known ECAC. I relate this to saying "Guess what!? I got an A in Philosophy." but failing to mention the C- that you
got in Calculus.
In March 2000, St. John's University was criticized by the NCAA for misrepresenting facts to the media and for
it's refusal to follow NCAA procedures concerning an investigation.
Major NCAA Infractions imposed on "world famous" Catholic School St. John's University included
cash payments to a student athlete as well as other extra benefits. Don't you think that a Catholic school which prides itself
on having a higher moral standing utilize some kind of ethnical standards as to prevent such occurrences?
In 2002, St. John's University announced plans to cut down it's Men's Football, Track and Field, Cross Country, Men's
Swimming, and Women's Swimming in order to raise women's percentages in it's college athetics programs.
St. John's University later re-established the infamous men's laccrosse team in an effort to help comply with the gender
percentage equality. What was the point in eliminating a woman's program and re-establishing a men's program to create
a gender equality in this situaiton?
