Rapes that occured on campus, off campus or by members of the St. John's University Community.

How many of you know about the Duke Lacrosse rape trial? Well this is one of the few times where St. John's actually beat Duke out.  How so? Well on March 1, 1990, various members of the St. John's Lacrosse team were brought to trial including  Adam Gerber,  Matthew Grandinetti, Michael Calandrillo, a 20-year-old junior at the college, of 61 South Robert Damm Street; Walter Gabrinowitz, 21, a senior and member of the lacrosse team, of 29 Beverly Road, and Andrew Draghi, 20, a junior and a team member, of 181 North Second Street. The last three are from Bethpage, L.I. for the sexual abuse and coerced sodomy of a 21 year old Jamaican St. John's student.  This was after Michael Calandrillo brought the unnnamed St. John's student to his house at 75-11 175th St., Jamaica which had been labelled the "Taj Mahal."  There Michael Calandrillo gave the female student an orange flavored drink laced with alchohol.
The female student was from there sexually assualted repeatedly by various members of the Lacrosse team.  On March 5th, 1990 the woman discussed the attack with a campus minister who told her not to drink amongst strange men and forget abougt the incident (which is ridiculous).  St John's publically stated that this issue was finally brought to the police on March 30th, 1990 after the woman asceded to university urgings (sounds like they were attempting to cover their ass).
In the end 3 men were acquitted and two plead guilty to lesser charges.  The female left St. John's with a life worth of damage.
