St. John's admits a large number of students under a program known as the CAP program. This program consists of
remedial classes and once completed, students are admitted into St. John's University. This program allows for St. John's
to bypass reporting students on it's general admission data. So SAT scores as well as GPA numbers of
an incoming freshman class are inflated.
St. John's has such an ever increasing number of applicants (record number so to speak) due in large part to it's waiving
of the application fee if you apply via the web.
