John Zuccarini, Case No. D2000-0996, WIPO Arbitration and Mediation Center, Oct. 22, 2000. In the Zuccarini case and an earlier case involving a number of variations on "Wal-Mart sucks," the WIPO judges found the corporate critics guilty of harassing the company rather than genuinely wanting to exercise free-speech rights. But a dissenting judge argued, in a case involving "vivendiuniversal sucks.com," that bad behavior should not be a relevant consideration where the result of a mandatory domain name transfer is to allow corporations to acquire and then suppress "sucks.com" Internet addresses, which are well-known for political commentary. Is St John's for you?
Why is St.Johns University not for you? Well if you like a new, technologically advanced campus, then St. Johns is not for you. If you like attending class in buildings that dont look like your elementary school, then St. Johns is not for you.   -- annoymous

St. John's has been called a place where average people shine because there are so many stupid dumbass  people that make anyone else look smart. annoymmous

If you're looking for a good place to blow $120,000 in four years, St. John's University is the place!  annonymous

Do you like to swim?

Well than St. John's isn't for you.   St. John's closed down it's swimming fascilities which is alleged to have been due costs, but around the same time (Fall 2005) built the new Taffner fieldhouse next door to help it's recreational and collegiate sports programs. So where can a St. John's University student go to swim?  How about Cuny Queens College.  It's less than 3 miles away!  Think St. John's Think!

St. John's Mission Statement includes "we commit ourselves to academic excellence and the pursuit of wisdom which flows from free inquiry, religious values and human experience", "
We strive to provide excellent education for all people, especially those lacking economic, physical, or social advantages", and "We pledge to foster those qualities required for anticipating and responding to the educational, ethical, cultural, social, professional, and religious needs of a dynamic city in a dynamic world."  As you read tihs website, take an honest assessment as to whether or not you think this is actually the case.

After spending nearly 25,000 in tuition, St. John's does give it's students the pleasure of 300 free prints on the printers in the computer lab.  After this the cost is 8 cents per copy.

What's new at St. John's?

Well a front page article of The Torch (the award winning student newspaper of St. John's University) details a fight that occurred off campus between Tau Kappa Epsilon and Phi Kappa Tau Fraternities that occured off campus on March 1, 2007.
Jack Flynn, assistant director of Judicial Affairs at St. John's University, concluded that a violation of the code of conduct had taken place.  Both Fraternities were suspended, and had their tables taken away from the University Center Commons.  (I'm quite sure that the fraternity members will use another table to meet and organize on campus)
This is apparently the one of many incidents involving TKE fraternity in the past two years.  TKE was suspended  at the start of the spring semester 2006 following a fight with the St John's University Lacrosse Team  (which itself has had it's own history of violence) in December 2005.  TKE was taken  off campus until  May 1, 2006.
A year prior to this, TKE was placed on probation after it was involved in an off campus fight with fraternity members of Sigma Phi Epsilon on Dec, 16, 2004 at Judge Hockert Triangle (on 179th street and Union Turnpike).   Two fraternity members were hospitalized.

St. John's Greats!

Jayson Williams, SJU 1990, a shining example of the use of the education applied from St. John's University .  A member of the St. John's University Basketball Team, Jayson Williams had a storied history.   He was accused in 1992 of smashing a beer into a patrons head in a Chicago bar.  Jason Williams was stated and praised for a 10 million dollar donation to St. John's University (but this donation may have been rescinded due to legal woes in 2004).   In 2004, He was involved in the shooting death of  limousine driver Costas Christofi at estate in New Jersey.  While allegedly twirling a shot gun around it fired and hit Costas in his chest killing him.  Jayson Williams was acquitted  of the more serious charge but the jury was deadlocked on reckless manslaughter.  Jayson settled with the family of Costos for 2.75 million dollars. An appeals court ruled on April 21, 2006 that Jayson Williams can be retried  on the reckless manslaughter charge. (read more at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jayson_Williams)
